    Thumbs up Eurobasket 2005

Excellent championship! I loved it. But, the referees sucked all the time.
The game with Greece....Man, Long live Greece!!!

Buzzer beater!!! 3 point basket with 3 seconds left!!!
Eliminated France after they had the game in the bag.

    Arghh...tell me about it!

I m Greek and had season tickets for basketball since I was 14 so I just love Basketball...

    ...however...

...I am living and working in England and no TV station will show or mention basketball here...its like a taboo or something...I doubt anyone else knows its the Euribasket...

    ...I dunno...

...on the other hand we had a month of so of daily, hours long coverage of the fast paced and exciting game of cricket ...

...So I got to watch exactly 0 (zero) games of this Eurobasket. To add insult to injury Greece is all the way to the finals!

I saw that the Germany-Spain game went down to the last seconds as well. I am missing some very good basketball here...

Anyhows, GO GREECE GO! If the footie guys can do it then the basketball guys can too.

Of course I ll be listening to it from online radio...

The last minute of the game was really cheap. The greeks spent their time making obvious faults so the french couldn't play.. The last part (which should have last 1 min 12 sec) lasted around 10 minutes.

Basket rules really need some changes.

This is how last minute basketball plays. You gota keep sending the opponent to shoot free throws if you are behind on points. What did you want em to do, wait patiently for 24 seconds to pass?

Anyway, it must have been a good game to see, but someone has to win in the end.

I'm not bitching espiecally at the greeks. The french would likely have done the same thing if they were a few points behind. I just think that basketball rules are totally screwed up.

Didn't France knock out - or beat - Bosnia, the 2nd best basketball nation , US being number 1.

I thought that was a good game for the French.

Haven't been following the Eurobasket though.

    Yay...

78-62 and Greece is the European Basketball Champion!!!

Papaloukas with 22 points is the leading scorer for the Greek team, Nowitzki with 23 the first scorer for Germany.

An exciting game with Greece taking an early lead and holding it with Germany being awlays dangerous. When Nowitzki went to the bench the Greek team fired the engines and secured the game :)

Who would have though that Greece would be the European Basketball AND football champion...I wonder if that has been done before...
