Default Limit of signatures per thread

I am a administrator/moderator for another forum www.clubvr4.com, and we chose to limit the display of signatures to one per poster per thread. i.e. if a poster posted a second post in the same thread it would not have a signature, only the first.

Is this a good idea to have here ?

Useless in terms of saving bandwidth. (An image is loaded once no matter how many times it appears on a page.) As for saving space, we already have tight and code-forced regulations about width and height.

Those two leaving no rational causes behind, I would respectfully oppose to further restriction. OTOH, I'm continuing my hunt for larger than 10K sig. images whenever I spot a suspect.

TWC used to have a script that scanned and removed any sigs that broke our rules. Alas, it became nonfunctional when we switched to vB.

I like the idea: you only need to see a signature once. I try no to put my signature in a thread twice, but often I forget to turn it off. However, I doubt TosaInu is going to implement it when he has to update the forum software soon.
