There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

As is with Soly, welcoming back Ser is a valid excuse to break the law and post at the backroom.

Welcome back! We expect pictures at the gallery thread.

Indeed, it was (plus a weekend in Berlin before that).

Dubai was fantastic (and quite amazing) - we especially enjoyed the hotel we stayed at ... I think I'm, spoiled for the rest of my life

I will try to post some pics later today in the "Gallery".

    Unfortunately not

We left on the Monday after the election and still got news about it in Dubai. Quite embarrassing that now, after more than one week, our precious politicians have not got very far in cleaning up this mess...

George always said it'll be six volumes. But this year he (kind of) admitted that it'll probably take a seventh one (... and he likes the idea of seven Books for seven Kingdoms).
Nr.4 coming up and Nr.5 (appearently) already half done.... woot.
When I said Death before Dishonour, I meant alphabetically.

Really? It's gonna be longer? Awesome, I was afraid that it would be only 4 books. Well it probably won't be as long as Wheel of Time... which has gone a bit long, if only due to the focus on Aes Sedai.
And I hope there are more of those steppe guys in this one! Those guys were sweet, if a bit steryotyped (barbarians, what have you).
