Thread: Rebels Captured

    Default Rebels Captured

I cannot find an explaination of what effects, if any, come about from how you treat the captured rebels. The dialog doesn't provide any help.

    --------
You have captured a number of rebels. Their lands have been confiscated, but now you must decide their fate.

    Number of men captured: xxx
    Nobles captured: x

    Value of confiscated lands: xxxx

    1. Execute them all.
    2. Execute the ringleaders.
    3. Release them all.
    --------

What are the effects of each of these choices? Do they affect anything?

They have little effect if you are invading rebel territory, but if it involves rebels captured after an insurgence against your rule, it does matter. Executing them all will give you a vice that increases dread, but on higher levels (if you repeatedly execute everyone) it decreases loyalty. Consequtively releasing eveyone gives a vice that increases loyalty, but decreases dread on higher levels. Executing the ring leaders is the middle way, and has no effect as far as I know.

Thank you Ludens. Could you please tell me where you found that information or was it just through experience?

We had a thread back some time ago in the Main Hall. However, since search is off-line I cannot find it right now. Perhaps if you try the google search (top right corner of the forum) you may have more luck, but when I tried I mainly got links to thread from the time the forum was still an IB-board. Needless to say, those links don't work.
