So. Here is another poll since it is so frustratingly silent here lately.

What is your favorite faction previewed, and why?

I voted Pontos...I find them exotical with their army of phalanxes-celts-oriental units.

I vote for the Getai. It is the most advanced barbarian faction. I love the combination: falx-spear-bow. Now the kelts and bastarnoz are in trouble. They face the manliest and law-abiding of Thraikos.

Baktria still does it for me. Beautiful, diverse selection of troops and a challenging starting position. Plus, they're the faction in the best position to invade India

RTW, 167 BC: Rome expels Greek philosophers after the Lex Fannia law is passed. This bans the effete and nasty Greek practice of 'philosophy' in favour of more manly, properly Roman pursuits that don't involve quite so much thinking.

the mere fact that Khel state sthis is probabaly teh last faction-previeuw. and that "getai"is pretty much "dacia+thrace" is very very suspicious...

or i want it to be!

With all honesty, I loved all of them more than I ever thought I would love a computer game mod preview. I didn't vote because it wouldn't be fair to the rest of the factions. Every single one made my jaw drop and heart beat faster in anticipation. It's comin' round the corner!

My hope would be that players would really try out almost all the factions - something that in vanilla wasn't worth it as much, as they were so much alike. Now with language and graphics and units and buildings all having variances, it might be worth it really to play as most factions. This would theoretically make the replay value of CA's game even higher -but I don't guess that's something they are too interested in right now with the release of an expansion.

    Remember these are just previews.

The EB world has so much more to offer in every area that you really can't compare it against vanilla or any other mod.

It truly is a total conversion; a brand new game. Each faction is finally playable. Each faction is truly unique with its own "feel". Playing as the Romans or the Getai or Baktria or Casse should all be equally rewarding!

I just like the Greeks, but all of them are great! I never even cared about the thrace/dacia region until now, but I can't wait to fire up a Getai game myself.

The Sweboz for me, followed shortly by the Aduei and then the Getai...

I'm going to crush the classical Latin world with three different Barbarian armies over and over and over to my heart's content

I'm amazed more people haven't voted for the Aedui. The units for the different tribes are awesome. I can't get over how much more realler they are than anyone else's!

Call me a loser but I had to vote Koinon Hellenoi, I just love the name.

With the amount of time I've lavished on the Roman traits, they're going to have to be the first faction I play during my vacation from modding after the release of the Open Beta!

I have to get me a Triumph and watch the map turn red with barbarian blood!

Ah! the Generals! they are numerous, but not good for much (especially if they're Languorous)!
