    Default Bi - Great Expansion

What can I say for me this has been a great expansion to a series I love, got tired of RTW and BI has really brought it all back for me, those caffeine fuelled nights of conquest and skullduggery!

Played my first campaign as the Huns, so far its 451 AD Ive got 5 settlements including the sarmation capital which I took from the Goths. I love the game because finally its a challenge on med/med! The AI is much improved and plays so much more like MTW and gone are the days of suicidal tactical and strategic decisions by the AI. The diplomacy for me has been much improved with countries keeping their alliances and actually responding to demands etc in a reasonable way, ie I have 1200 smelly Huns outside your city give me Shiney bits of gold or im gonna walk through your shrubbery bush with my army!!! They actually pay up sometimes!

I think the DEVs have really listened to the complaints about RTW and for £19.99 I've really got my moneys worth, well done CA! The hoarding system now that I understand it for the barbarians that can use it really is a stroke of genius, I think with the coding balanced to make it difficult to hold lots of land without a lot of smelly peasants kicking off really makes you care about looking after your empire before you go off kicking the shit out of your neighbours, akin to how RTW played.. gee lets build 10 pieces and blitz the map and be home in time for tea!

The battles are actually enjoyable and not once have I auto resolved because the territories are less its worth fighting each battle as you dont have to fight like 6 billion of them. Also I don't notice billions of annoying rebels which really used to piss me off in RTW. When you capture rebel towns near your turf they actually seem to stop spawning! Another incentive to kick the shit out of them Pikeys stinking up your borders.

One complaint is the terrible lag that develops after a couple of hours play, Im using a very powerful cpu and I am getting a lot of memory leaking so have to reboot and I am using a memory program before playing the game to speed the game up.

Well I hope you enjoyed my rant its 3.35 am, im drunk happy and giggling like a little school girl as I plot the next part of my campaign to defrock those toga wearing christian nancies in the south !!! Damn shandy drinking Romans!

    Anyways au revoir!

Good to hear it's fun and welcome to the Org, but please watch the language. It's a family forum here.

    LOOOOL.

BI is a great game. Hopefully the lag won't affect me.

    Been to:

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.

A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?
