    Default Favourite Queen album

OK, I left out the live albums and the greatest hits albums.

For me, gotta be Queen II. Has all the OTT rock operatics that Queen were so good at, but not let down the weak, sappy Freddie songs that infect virtually every other album. March of the Black Queen is probly my favourite ever Queen song, classic Queen in the same vein as Bohemian Rhapsody and Innuendo

And anyone votes Hot Space, I'll personally recommend to Tosa that they be banned permantly!! I wasted several hours of my life listening to that pap, hours I will never get back.

Flash Gordon Soundtrack is on there cos Flash's Theme (reprise) has perhaps the greatest guitar riff Brian May ever did - not to be confused with the cheesy Flash's Theme that made the charts.

It's really hard picking between Queen albums. I'm a big fan and I've got all of the albums on tape. Used to listen to them in the car. Got to go out one of these days and pick up the CDs I'm missing.

I'm with you on "March of the Black Queen". It's also one of my favorites. The whole black side of Queen II is particularly good.

But... I've got a soft spot for the Flash Gordon album. I loved that movie and really became a Queen fan after I picked up the album. Also, I used to play laser tag at the Trocadero to those tracks, so it brings back good memories.

I also love "Jazz", with "Don't Stop Me Now" and "Mustapha" as two of my favorites tracks.

"A Kind of Magic" also rocks with all the "Highlander" theme tracks.

Hell, I like all their stuff. Even "Hot Space".

Anybody else out there big enough Queen freaks that they can actually take this poll?

Where are the greatest hits series? I'll say that it's between the second and the third of this series (and yes I know it's a compilation).

Now, that's a really tough one...

I think I'd go with "A Night at the Opera" ... but depending on the mood my choice might look differently tomorrow

They don't count as albums in my eyes. Its to do with an album being greater than the sum of its parts, the way its constructed. Many of the best Queen songs were never released as singles. One only has to look at the songs which were staples of their live shows, but never singles.

Hmm a tough question but depending on the day it may be "A Night at the Opera" or "Sheer Heart Attack".

Don't care what album i listen to.....but my favorite song has got to be Hammer to fall

    What a song

In fact i'm listening to it now!
    When I was a child
    I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
    The child is grown,
    The dream is gone.
    I have become comfortably numb...

Queen, too bombastic. However, some listenable Queen tracks:

    1) Machines
    2) Fat Bottomed Girls
    3) Dragon Attack
