Giving them offices helps with loyalty. There's a master of infantry, a couple of Britannia offices, etc.

No, I'm not talking about retinues, but offices. There are several in the game - they look like retinues, they show up in the same place, but they are offices, not people. Dux Britannia, Magister Militum, Magister Equitum, etc.

I can't speak for other factions, but I know the WRE has them. You'll just have to search your generals to find them.

I know and they are part of a generals retinue. And they are handed out by the Government building. for example once you build a Pro-Consuls palace it does a check for generals in the city and if they are not the faction leader of the heir and haven't moved in that turn there is a 60% chance that Magister Militum will be given to them in their retinue list. Religous relics are the same thing.

My point is that the WRE starts with several generals with offices for which you do not have to build any buildings. But it is interesting to know that building a proconsul building will give me more.

Talking of religious relics, anyone found the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch.

A Reading from the Book of Armaments, Chapter 4, Verses 16 to 20:

Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ... Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."
