Not to be a no-good, dirty thread-hijacker, but....

I have RTW patched to 1.2. When BI came out, I bought it and installed it. I haven't gone back to RTW yet. My question is:

Is 1.3 now "installed" because I have BI? Say I want to go back and play a Julii campaign -- will I be playing 1.2 or 1.3? How would I *get* 1.3 if I don't "automatically" get it with BI? And what does 1.3 do, anyway?

    Thanks for any answers!

Brace yourself for some very bad news.

You will not be allowed to reload your old R:TW campaign. At least that's what happened to me.

You might -- might -- be able to find the savegame file. I don't know. Haven't looked. If you do, you might be able to move it to another file, reload 1.2 somehow, then put it into that version's savegame file.

    Sorry.

Hmm.... Well I'm not really interested in loading up an old savegame from 1.2. I was just wondering if I would be able to play RTW at all now that I have BI...

When you say "You will not be allowed to reload your old RTW campaign", do you mean "campaign" as in "particular savegame", or do you mean "campaign" as in "the entire game"?

Yes, you can play R:TW, but it will be 1.3. You cannot load a particular 1.2 savegame. You can start a new campaign game, but it will be a 1.3 campaign.

Sorry for keeping on going off-topic, but I just want to add something concerning the playability of 1.2 campaigns.
Before installing BI I just made a copy of my RTW folder, and renamed it. Then BI installed over the "default" RTW folder, and now I can play RTW 1.3, BI and RTW 1.2. Must admit that I haven't tried to play RTW1.3 yet, but I want to wrap up my 1.2 campaigns first.
So maybe that can be a solution for you too? Keep the 1.2 savegames (back-up), reinstall RTW 1.2, make a copy of this folder, and then install BI.
I hope it'll work for you too.

EDIT: Oops, I should've read this thread before posting. Appearantly this has been suggested already... Sorry for the redundant post.
