I just wonder what kind of religous relics are in the game. I really haven't seen any yet. But I've not played the ERE much yet.

At the start of the WRE campaign, in one of the settlements in east Germany (north of Salona), is a general who has the Splinters of the True Holy Cross.

A whole lot of nails and slinters of the holy cross... In my game I could have built several crosses and crucified a similar number of men (nails) with what I have got.

But I have yet to see a single weapon. Perhaps it is more for the WRE or barbs?

Pushed by the rather apparent lack of weapons I looked into the file.
They are there, but they are rater hard to get... Especially the Sword in the Stone, it can't be gotten by anyone as it is set to be given out in turn -726, but then again only Romano-British can get it.

So in terms of weapons I was rather surprised by the lack of them.

Wha I did find was some very interesting ancilliaries. For isntance each ofthe patriarchies can grant a patriarch (I have only gotten the one of Constantinople myself), even the Pope.
Another one I really like is if the father has a bit of paranoia then his son might get an overprotective nanny when he comes of age.
You can even get a praetorian guardsman.

Oh, and both Nestor and Pelagius are possible to pick up.

I am definately liking the new varieties of VnV and ancilliaries. Definately better than all my generals having Drunken Uncles.

Yes, they are decidedly better... Well at least some of them. There are even anciliaries you almost can't get, like heretics for instance. That shows some effort was put into this.

But I think I have found a small mistake. One of the Nails of he True Cross add +1 to Unrest while all three others grant -2 to Unrest. All the splinters are also uniform, so I wonder why it is different.

Funny, I've only goten the Patriarch of Antioch so far. I've also had some sons pick up abbots and abbesses. The abbess is the better

Sounds more like an easter egg.
Since no game can get to -726th turn.

By the way InEnemyLands triggers is bugged and works the opposide then intended.

So, if you don't use bug-fixer, all InEnemyLands conditions should really be read like InHomeLands.

I don't know was it intentional, but gaining Spear of Wotan or Sword of Chinglu is really difficult.

The reason for that is that both items require general with PaganConversion trait.
And that trait can only be gained in cities Sol Invictus, Mithras and Pai temples, none of which are native to Saxons or Huns (roman and sarmatian temples).

    feature or flaw?

Might be a feature to force the player faction to conquer enemy lands to 'show their worth.' Also keeps em rare.

Well that's acurate. I think they had two brains of some saint, one of when he was 12. So logic is nothing particularly important when it comes to religous artifacts.

I love how they say orangutans... quite funny. Is it just me, or did the Lord want them to eat really weird animals?
BTW, I think it's stoats, not toads...

Yeah forgot to mention Merlin as one of the cool ancilliaries. Btw, he is not named Merlin in the text, but something similar in what appears to be Celtic.

Give me strength. More Arthurian legend bs. How about the holy grail as a relic, and while we're at me might as well have the Arc of the Covenant.

Well the Arc of the Covenant supposedly destroys entire armies with a supernatural energy if carried before it. Some people say that it may have contained something radioactive. Maybe something dropped by a passing alien spaceship who knows.
The Holy Grail, well of course that resores life to anyone who drinks from it as it held the blood of christ, who we all know was an alien
So we can change the name of the game to alien invasion.

Oh heres another relic we can mod into the game.
The Holy Prepuce, or to put it another way, the foreskin of Jesus.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holy_Prepuce
Wouldn't it be great to ride out into battle with that stuck on a pole.
If I was the enemy I would run a mile.

On a more serious note, does anyone actually know when Christain symbols were first used on armour and banners, e.g the cross of St. George.
As St. George came from around this time, this is very interesting reading,
