Video Gaming moves closer and closer to mainstream entertainment every year.
No longer is it a "toy", but a major hobby and accepted form of adult entertainment.
I like this.
It will be very nice to see a director contribute TW, eh?![]()

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.
I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

Besides financial reasons, I don't see a purpose to making a videogame into a movie.

I do see a reason,I mean come on, aren't some of you too thinking that the Baldurs Gate story was a lot better plotted than LotR? Aren't there some others like me, thinking that there should be UT movies about beeing one of these "mercenaries"?
In general a computer game is not really different from a movie - an interactive movie in which YOU can decide whatever you want to do.
Either way i would find a movie about 'David Gemmel' books more interesting, although you can have a lot of your own stuff if you just take a simple action game on what your movie is based on, there is a chance that it will be getting a brainless shooting orgy...
Speaking of which, they better not **** up the Max Payne movie. I loved that game, and it would translate very well into a complete story- it even comes complete with an extended metaphor. Granted, the second game was atrocious (Rockstar did to Remedy what Activision did to EA) but then there doesn't have to be a sequel. After all, Ragnarok is over.
There will be a Doom movie as well
