I understand why the thread was closed, but not why the 'banstick' was ready.

If there was something ban-worthy in that thread, I'd like to know so I can readjust my posting style. There was another backroom mod participating in that thread who didn't seem to have his 'banstick' ready, to boot.

I'm confused.

I was wondering the same thing - it seemed a little hasty to drag out the "banstick", especially in light of the leniency granted to several members.

Also, a quote from the Colombus day thread:

on any other board, you'd deserve to be banned for such over-the-top falseties. really.

This was in regards to comments Kaiser made about affirmative action in America. I would not characterise Kaiser's comments as "over-the-top falseties" and I doubt I'm alone in that.

Dispite some of the other problems I've had with Mods in the past (Hosa, Ser Clegane, etc) I could respect them, a little bit at least. Soly's just being a Incompatible language.

If he wants to ban me, DO IT. Don't make threats, especially indirect ones like "You deserved to be banned from other forums blah blah freakin blah." Well, guess what, this isn't another forum, this is Totalwar.org, the best online community I have ever had the pleasure of posting at.

All the mods are biased, but at least they don't let it get in the way of their moderation too much. Soly, on the other hand, seems to be unable too, and I doubt he was the best choice to moderate the backroom.

My two cents, take them as you will.

Well, I doubt I'll have much more to add to this, but I don't understand becoming a mod and then revamping the way renegade threads are dealt with.

I wondered what soly meant when upon his arrival as a mod to the backroom when he said, 'expect things to happen.'

Usually when I've seen mods change in the backroom, you could expect a certain consistency amongst them. The place didn't change drastically from when A Saturnus left and Ser Clegane took over, and when Pape and Kukri make their appearances.

Unless for some reason soly was chosen specifically to shake up things or rattle a few cages, I just feel, if it isn't broke, don't fix it.

2) The warning system is going to get stiffer. This is a tie in with the junior membership account being reactivated and restricted posting. We are getting ready for a Barbarian Invasion crossed with a rush of console gamers.

That reason would probably be personal insults directed at another poster by me .
Though I toned down what I really would have liked to write , it is still against the forum rules to insult people that way .

I think it was more or less in the context of which he used your first two quotes. They're not too bad though, but kinda pissess me off (as just about everything pissess me off, I steam with anger when someone walks into me).

This to me is totally unacceptable actions or should I say comments by a mod. To threaten or make a person feel threatened for making comments that you dont agree with is over the top. Seems Solys trip to Japan didnt improve his opinion of conservatism.
