    Default What Text Editing tool do you mod with?

    What tools do you use to do your modding of text files? Anyone using perl?

    Metapad.

    The search and find/replace features are much better than Notepad and it has a line counter - handy for quickly finding stuff from debug messages.

    Small size, line numbers, tabs for multiple documents (useful for the associated files such that need simultaneous editing in RTW modding), quick navigation to saving/loading etc., wordwrap (of course), retains format, global replace can be selective...it's free.

    It would be interesting to see the preferred tool of top modders. ;)

    A traditionalist at heart, I use Notepad. But u guys seem to have some good programs there, I'll have to try them out.
