    Default Now THAT'S fascinating!!!

Hi all.....I invite peeps to post their trivia..

    I'll kick off....

Michael Caine never said "don't throw those bloody spears at me!"
There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticise.

"The purpose of a university education for Left / Liberals is to attain all the politically correct attitudes towards minorties, and the financial means to live as far away from them as possible."

Whilst writing for their album Never Mind The Bollocks, The Sex Pistols' manager Malcolm McLaren gave them a list he'd written of 'punk-type words' he wanted them to use. One of the words was 'submission' - McLaren expected a song about bondage, whips and chains et cetera. So to annoy him the Pistols wrote a song about a submarine mission

Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes never said "Elementary my dear Watson".

No-one said "beam me up, Scotty" in Star Trek
It was not theirs to reason why,
It was not theirs to make reply,
It was theirs but to do or die.

"Wherever this stone shall lie, the King of the Scots shall rule"
-Prophecy of the Stone of Destiny

"For God, For King and country, For loved ones home and Empire, For the sacred cause of justice, and The freedom of the world, They buried him among the kings because he, Had done good toward God and toward his house."

Patton never said this: "No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country.
He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country."

The man who is really responsible for it, is Carlo d'Este from "A Genius for War"
There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

Al Pacino and Robert De Niro are always said to avoid each other, even in a cast of a film. Godfather II was an exception but they never were in the same scene in that film. However, the movie - Heat was the first one to do that. Even though there were rumors that they used stuntmen (right word?) for the dinner scene, from the wideshots it was obvious that they acted together in the same shot.
