Default 200 Thousand Years of History

    Hello,

Not Sure if this has been posted here or not before, however, and since many here like History, I would like to share this link with you.

At your upper right corner you can click on the arrow and follow the 200 thousand year evolution of...all of us..

    The Genographic Project

Following the guided tour I actually spent quite some time looking at all the migratory lines...very very fascinating, and surprising...

As, after all, it seems like we are all more alike than different ;)

    Hrm..

    It is a "Https" link...

    Try this one:

    http://www5.nationalgeographic.com/genographic

It will still redirect to Https, but I hope it works this way. :)

It's likely a DNS problem related to your ISP. Keep trying and you'll hit it.

    And so friends,

What do you think of all this? Any Comments, Thoughts, Reflexions on the subject?

I understand, Genetics is not everyone's cup of tea, but I am asking from the Historical (or Pre-Historical if you prefer) point of view here...

There are also sections on Linguistics and Language evolution, that pareallel this Human Journey.

Having listened to the Videos in that site for all the periods, I zoomed in on each Map and closelly examined all the Patriarchal lines (y-Chromosome) or Matriarchal Lines (Mitochondriac DNA).

One of the most fascinating is also one of the oldest ones, the M130 (Haplogroup C), which basically is shared by Australian Aboriginals, Mongols and Tlingit Peoples of North America.

And this is just a begining, the Human Journey is not over, as more people's Data is added it becomes more accurate :)

To me at least this is all so very fascinating and is eliminating many stereotypes that take their roots in our History's Bloody moments...

And represents to me some factual data, that after all, all Humans are indeed one big Familly, more alike than different
