Default [vid] Hardball on Rove, Cheney

So some interesting things being discussed here.

    1) There is internecine warfare going on inside the WH between Rove and Card
    2) The president has been distancing himself from both Rove and Cheney lately

I like how much he leans into it and how is tie is off-center -- I mean business, this is big news between friends!

I wonder how much of it is just speculation though, and to what degree.

The idea of journalists interviewing other journalists about their 'impressions' of the news is bad journalism. That having been said, I think they are onto something in their actual journalistic work, particularly Vanity Fair's Michael Wolff.

It's good to see others (media) finally picking up on this--the sense of disorientation in the Administration. The Bush admin and Dubya himself have seemed completely flat footed ever since the 1st weekend following Katrina. In his on camera appearances Dubya has actually looked like he might be having some sort of breakdown/personal crisis. The rambling speech about energy conservation is one I saw live and it looked very much like someone who had lost his grip.

I've got a sense that a number of things are about to converge on the admin, and they know it. If it was just the Rove thing, I don't think they would be so concerned as they would believe they had plenty of ways to cope. Yep, this is all just speculation, but I've seen too many diverse indicators that something is amiss. There has been turmoil in GOP leadership, and concern in the GOP about how Katrina was mishandled. Now with Miers nomination, it appears that the right wing of the GOP is turning on him. However, the signals of overall impatience were becoming clear before that: the sense of exasperation over Iraq mishandling, budget issues, energy issues, etc.
    Rome Total War, it's not a game, it's a do-it-yourself project.
