Thread: moving your capital

    Default moving your capital

When is it good to move your capital and does this piss off people in the old capital.

It seems clear from other posters that the farther away from you capital cities are the more corrupt the get.

However, what if an ideally located settlement is not that bag and hasn't been developed much yet? Will this make the move more disruptive ?

That´s the only reason. Just place your capitol in the center of your empire.

The location of the capital only influences the "distance-to-capital" penalties: corruption and unhappiness. Moving it is has no effects except for the change in this parameter. It is only really important when your empire gets rather spread-out. Try to place it near newly conquered settlements to lower unrest or near the better developed ones to increase income.

If you want to know which city would be best, try Ravenous Bugblatter Beast's Enhanced R:TW best capital calculator. Keep in mind that it tries to minize the average or maximum distance-to-capital penalties, but sometimes you might want to have profitable or unhappy cities closer to your capital than others.
