Default Heat of Battle for COD version 1.0

Well, this is it folks. The final version of Heat of Battle, the spectacular capture and hold mod for Call of Duty, with increased realism, guns, maps, sprinting, and a bunch of other goodies like true deployable BARs, is going to be released this Friday! This mod does not require UO.

    Check it out at http://www.heatofbattle.net/.

I'd encourage everyone to give it a try.

Hmm does the mod make CoD less arcade? And if so in what way?

It very much makes it less arcadish. It is a realistic teamplay mod.

Running is toned down, and you can no longer run (much) faster with a pistol than a BAR.

Crosshairs are out, so you have to use iron sights. The whole of the aiming system has been tuned to encourage actual aiming.

Bunny jumping is forbidden (at least at the -MM!!- server).

Sprinting is in, but its well limited (in both how long you can run, and how you can't fire while running)

It has a 'wave' respawn system like DoD, wherein all players who died in the last 15 seconds respawn at the same time.

    Grenades are cookable.

The object of the game is to capture and hold points, which lends itself naturally to teamplay. Run and gunners will get cut down by sharp-eyed marksmen, and Rambos will be ineffective.

And many other things I've forgotten.

That doesn't sound too realistic, but it might be necessary for gameplay.

    I don't know; I don't have the game.
