Everything about the picture is excellent (the artist is particularly good at rendering metal) except one thing -- he doesn't look Mongolian to me!

Hmmmmmm..yeah, I have to agree and say he doesn't look anything like a Mongolian. I mean, this pic is waaaay too idealized. We all know what Ghenghis looked like; this guy looks more like a model for J Crew 1200bc than anything else. Great pic, though. Thumbs up to the artist.

I was referring to the Khan's face, not the gear. Definitely the inclusion of foreign gear is a great artistic method of "telling a whole story with a single snapshot".

I have visited your website before. It's very good and complete. I see you used a couple of pictures from the Men at Arms series Mongols book. Angus McBride is a great artist! He really shows the humanitity of his subjects. And they look Mongol, which brings us back to the subject of my first post here.
One constructive criticism on your website: The blue links are difficult to read on the red background. I know that you want to use the red, blue, and yellow of the flag, but maybe you could use a neutral color for the link text. Isn't the symbol in the flag gold? Maybe you could use gold.

Soly, tell ya what, you take that picture, and put Ricardo Montalban's face in the place of the Khans, and make it look good, and believable. Then I will post that puppy up at my site on the "news.htm" page for everyone to see.
