Default Is there any way to mod the burning oil in 1.3/BI?

I want to reduce its effects or limit its ammo. I had a battle where my soldiers killed 400 enemy and my wall defences (mainly the oil) killed ~3,100! Is there a way to do this in BI or 1.3, since as far as I am aware this wasn't possible in RTW 1.2 or before.

    Cheers

I'd like to know the answer to this question too - I want to mod it out of existence!

I think the presence of the oil for a given gatehouse is contained within .bpi files or something. Some kind of physical-data file.
