Thumbs up Byzantium TW Update #1

    Byzantium TW Update #1

Hello fans! This is our first update of the mod, to inform you about the progress of our mod. For the start, we have some small announcements to make.
The mod will be for BI, and possibly for RTW. Hopefully, we can implement some Multiplayer stuff, to make the mod truly unique.

For our first update, our work has been concentrated on the units and the campaign map. Blindfaithnogod, our modeller, did an excellent job with the units. Also, we have units made by Xennik and Antiochus Epiphanes, our other skinners. Below, is their latest work.

Our coders, Delenda est Carthago and Borsook, are testing the ideas we thought about and also, they are implementing the current work.

The mod is getting it's desired shape. :)

    Saracen Infantry

Saracen Infantry are the backbone of desert armies. The Fatimid Caliphate uses them as a reliable medium infatry, capable of withstanding charges of heavy cavalry. They are good even against the armoured Crusaders, which represent a problem to the Saracens. At a decent cost and upkeep, they represent a powerful and useful selection to any wise commander

    Early Varangian Guards

These fearsome warriors are the elite infantry of the Byzantine Empire, and ferociously loyal to their emperors, in stark contrast to the constant scheming of their "Western" counterparts, the Praetoreans. Almost nothing can stop them. Composed of Viking and Rus mercenaries, they are a scary sight for any enemy commander. They wield a double handed axe with such skill, that they can cleave an armoured man or horse into two pieces. Apart from their powerful axe, they wear chain mail armour and a carry a large shield, to protect themselves. Although very costly, they can turn the tide of any battle.

    Early Royal Knights

Royal Knights represent the elite cavalry of the Catholic Kingdoms. They are used only by Royalty, and are not available to any noble family. They thunderous charge and attack power practically destroys any infantry or cavalry formations, being able to destroy a unit of infantry in seconds. Heavily armoured and equipped, they represent the unit that can change the tide of the battle.

    Siculo-Norman Knights(WIP)

The Siculo-Norman Knights are hardy warriors, armoured in chain mail, capable of delivering a terrible blow. They are medium to heavy infantry, making excellent troops, because of higher speed than heavy infantry. The Norman Kingdom of Sicily is relying heavily on these soldiers, and so far, they haven't failed them, making it a good decision.

    Alan Bowmen Mercenaries

Alan Bowmen Mercenaries are good bowmen, usually hunters, found as mercenaries in the Caucasus and other places. The Alans are recognized for their superb cavalry but also for the skills of the bowmen. Lightly armoured and fast, they can be used to support the heavier troops, to lighten the enemy, before the heavy infantry and cavalry take care of the rest

Here is a small preview of the campaign map. This is very "crude", so expect a full modification of the campaign map. This is just a preview to give you an idea on what I'm working. :)

Ja mata, TosaInu. You will forever be remembered.

    Proud

    Been to:

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.

A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?
