Good choice for a bad role. I think Craig can act - he was very good as Geordie in Our Friends from the North (and also light years away from playing Bond). More recently, he's had more typical leading man roles where he has shown a taciturn masculinity that would seem to fit the part. But he's probably conflicted about taking such a neanderthal role - he did an interview when he was asked whether he would try to bring more depth to the part, and seemed to answer that would not want to risk upsetting a money-making franchise.
