That is what struck me too. It doesn't match what I hear from people I know in the Salvation Army either. I guess it goes to show there are Christians and then there are Christians. It also supports my view that conscript armies are inherently superior to purely professional armies. Conscripts are citizens who wear uniform for a restricted period and purpose. Professional soldiers have a tendency to get their identity and self-respect solely from the organisation that tells them what to do from dusk till dawn, year after year, for all of their adult lives. That gives people a totally skewed perspective on life and can easilt cause them to lose touch with the rest of society.Originally Posted by Red Harvest
