Thread: Open Nomination of Senior Membership for GAWAIN

  1. #1

Default Open Nomination of Senior Membership for GAWAIN

Alright. Why the heck has this not already occurred?

I think it is high time that Gawain is elevated to Senior Member.

His posts, while politically motivated, contribute to a fun and healthy atmosphere in the backroom. He is a respected member of the community and is a leader amongst members.

Why not, after 11,000 posts, grant him that status as Senior Member.

It is my opinion that, whether you agree with his politics or not, Gawain of Orkeny, should be given said status.

    Becuase he's an ASS.

Nah, he does deserve senior membership. He has been around way too long, and he has posted way too many times, to still just be a member.

He definetly deserves it. His contribution is enormous, and seeing as he already is a senior citizen, why not grant him the privilege of being one in the org as well?

I do not know the criteria for such a rating, but if activity and length of membership count, I believe he's "paid his dues."

Woof. Now I'll crap on YOUR carpet. It 'twas a joke my friend. Don't get so angry. Del Arroyo is a good man. You obviously did not read the poll options.

As for the status, I cannot vote until an official person (mods, admin, senior members themselves) can give a basic outline of the qualification as a senior member.

There are quite a few patrons worthy of becoming Senior Members. When the time comes for such promotions, there are usually at least a dozen nominations put forth by the staff but only about half of these are selected - not because the others arent' worthy, it is just that we are trying to keep the numbers down so Senior Membership remains a special recognition. Senior Membership would have little significance if half the Org patrons were of that level. So, just because Gawain (or anyone else) isn't a Senior Member, it doesn't mean 1) we don't think he is worthy of it; and 2) that he hasn't been nominated previously. Between all the staff, we do tend to recognize those who are deserving of such a promotion.

Since Divinus has brought up the subject, it reminds me that we may be due for another round of Senior Member promotions. I'll bring it up with Tosa.

Last note before someone brings up the "elitist" issue, promotion to Senior Member is simply the Org staff's way of saying "thank you" to those patrons who make the Org a better place. The importance of the promotion is only meant to be significant to the member being promoted. It is not an promotion that makes the Senior Member better than any other patron. All patrons are expected to respect each other regardless of their rank.

    Same here.

I especially liked the 'I ****' in it, main reason I voted no.

Anyways I might vote different in an official poll for senior membership for GAWAIN... now I'm taking my chance to annoy Divinus arma... because I envy him! he makes such great org wars pics...

Agreed , but you can solve the problem by creating a Master membership and than a Super membership , the sky is the limit

I voted No, because I can think of 2 occasions and perhaps a third, where he has linked to Hate/White Supremist sites to back up his views. If the org hands out accolades for that type of contribution, Tosa can revoke my account.

There should be a proper system for promotion to senior membership, with nominations, elections, and polls and such and such like and so on and so forth et cetera, etc...

Well the other night at the Klan rally Gawain and I discussed this issue at length. It was kind of hard to hear each other above the screams of a black man we had just lynched and set ablaze. Between our goose-stepping march practice and torching of a synagogue, Gawain had said that he did not really see the issue about he becoming or not being selected to senior membership. We agree, tarred and feathered a Chinaman, and went back to reading the assumptions of dimwitted persons we radomly see throughout the Guild.

High postcount does not qualify for senior membership alone. I don`t see why, let`s say for example you, deserve less a senior membership then Gawain.
