I noted an interesting development over at the .com forums. The desc_strat.txt file includes factions attitudes to each other. Apparrently now the Roman Factions are supposed to be somewhat suspicious of each other. Interestingly the Julii and not the Scipii are hostile to Carthage by default. If people want to fiddle about with settings this thread looks like a good place to start.
