I just bought System of a Down "Mezmerize". It is the best CD I've bought in a looong time. I put this in the backroom because of the obvious political element of the band and some might wonder why I would buy it. Well, IT KICKS ASS, THATS WHY!!!

Why doesn't the president fight the war? Why do we always send the poor?
Yeah, kick ass album. New one is coming out soon...
Hey, I'm startin to like a bit more![]()
SOAD? Bah.
Santana>SOAD.
Why do you hate Freedom?
The US is marching backward to the values of Michael Stivic.
An OK album Dave, but not SOAD's best. Their new material doesn't touch their old stuff, if you want the best of SOAD get Toxicity - the album - it is one of the best albums you will ever hear, up there with al lthe classics.
It has an equally charged political message as Mezmerize too, just look at the opening song off the album 'Prison Song'.
etc...Minor drug offenders fill your prisons
You don't even flinch
All our taxes paying for your wars
Against the new non-rich,
All research and successful drug policy show
That treatment should be increased,
And law enforcement decreased,
While abolishing mandatory minimum sentences,
GARCIN: I "dreamt," you say. It was no dream. When I chose the hardest path, I made my choice deliberately. A man is what he wills himself to be.
INEZ: Prove it. Prove it was no dream. It's what one does, and nothing else, that shows the stuff one's made of.
GARCIN: I died too soon. I wasn't allowed time to - to do my deeds.
INEZ: One always dies too soon - or too late. And yet one's whole life is complete at that moment, with a line drawn neatly under it, ready for the summing up. You are - your life, and nothing else.

ah, I love that album as well, I agree Dave, it kicks ass!![]()

I don't listen to SOAD anymore, but I would recommend most the first album. More raw and more bizarre at the same time.Originally Posted by JAG

I have all of their stuff, including Toxicity. They just continue to put out great music.
ZipZap rap rules baby!!!
RIP Tosa
That's the good one. I've yet to listen to Mezmerize properly since my sister took it to her room and has since 'forgotten' to return the damn thing. Which reminds me...Originally Posted by NeonGod

For me the first soad album was perfect with War, Sugar, know and Devil being just classic tunes but since then they have gone down hill big time but thats just my view.
