Actually, that's more of a hope than an assertion. If you're skint AND getting corruption vices then you have my sympathies but I would be puzzled by it too.
You're spot-on.

I'm sitting on about $30,000 profit per year, so that makes sense. I expect it's a balancing effect programmed into the game, which doesn't quite have the impact that the programmers desired.
