    Default When Someone Drops . . .

Occassionally in a 3v3 or 4v4 a player drops, usually the connection fails but also people quit.

Just wondering what others think is the proper response.

Seems to me that if the drop occurs early in the battle, before the teams start to engage, that the opponent of the person who dropped should withdraw, and that everyone should stop and wait until the teams can regroup.

Otherwise the game should be rehosted.

What's the consensus of the community?

Normally in games, if a player drops (loses connection or whatever) it would be acceptable to restart the game. Rehost and invite the players to rejoin.

The other alternative would be for one player to withdraw and allow an even battle between the remaining players.

Both these options have been used many times in the past in MTW battles and are options that I would hope would be the norm.

Unfortunately, this is not possible if a player just quits (leaves without accepting defeat) because his army then becomes AI controlled and continues fighting.

im all for rehosting, it seems a bit unfair to get one guy to drop out to let others play :)

from my expirience in 2v2 or 3v3 in Shogun when some 1 drops, (usualy before deployment)
We all leave and go back to the foyer to Wait for the unfortunate person who was droped,

This seems to be the only Honorable way,

jochi i think we are talking about mtw/vi i think so when a player quits his army withdraws automatically unless its already engaged.

The honorable player will often withdraw when his nearest opponent quits. I find this quite admirable because its extremely annoying to have to leave battle due to somone elses falt when youve waited so long for the game :)

In our games we often discuss it with everyone and see if we should rehost or if we should continue with one of the opposition withdrawing. Better to get the opinion of everybody that is in the game.

The best answer to Ichi question for me is it depends on what both sides, attackers and defenders decides to do. They also depends on situations.

Some ppl will asked for rehost maybe because the guy who got dropped is an old friend they waiting the opportunity to play with for ages, or maybe a clan member. Some will carry on, with one person withdrawing from battle and be a spectator (Like GreyFox, I also see many honourable players volunteered themselves to 'sit out' the battle in order for others to carry on swiftly) reason for this I think is rehosting could take more time becos of the relogin thingy. I dont mind at all to sit out for others to continue. i always think of it as now i can be the "Big General" that can shout "Sucrvy... left flank! left flank!" :)

But if anybody 'has' to quit before starts, i think its best to drop a line saying its emergency and have to go. Im sure ppl will understand, rather than just quit and leaving others clueless.

I also sometimes but very rare peoples will just carry on playing example 3v4 saying 'Lets go, we are not afraid of u all' in a friendly way, as it is a fun game to them (Like the one Bottom have recently and WON!)
