Default changing the number of units in your army.

I need some help here. I have mundus Magnus 1.2 and it alows my infantry to have 122 units in each one. Calvery is 100 units. Now when I open up the export_descr_unit it only has 60 or 50 show for actual units?????????????????

How can I modify it to put more units? like 250 infantry and 200 calvery???
    THANKS

you can't. i tried, the game crashed to desktop, i got frustrated, and then whined on this forum about lack, and was told by the creator of the hadrian and caligula mod tool that the number is hard-coded if you want to play BI. as for the original rtw, i play it heavily modded when it first came out (i.e., 200 troops/horseman per century, 2000000 arrows per unit, etc. ), but i don't know if this will work for the rtw with the bi.

also, in order to change the number of troops, you'd have to go to advanced options when you're starting a campaign and put huge army.

Wouldn't it just be a case of setting the preferences to 120 and modding the cavalry to the right size in the unit file?

I'm playing with 100 man units for infantry (150 for large units).

your not understanding. in the file that allows you to change the numbers of units in your army there is only "60" for the max YET when I play the game there is 122 UNITS where there should only be 60. I simply want to know how this is done

    It's VERY simple actually.

In your advanced graphic options, there is a setting for small, normal, large and huge unit sizes. The game takes the value for unit size and multiplies it according to the chosen unit size.

This gives, as I recall, a maximum size of 240 men in a unit. This is on Huge setting. On top of this, you get officers.

Your '60' gets multiplied by 2, and then there are officers to make it 122. Change that to Huge, and you would get 242 men in the unit and a lot more soldiers on the battlefield. It's about this time, though, that you find out if your PC is able to handle the graphical load.....
