Lack of sprites?!

Just got BI.Good game, I'd give it a 9.
Running at 128MB video card, the campmap has no lag....

As for battles, totally different things. I experience total lag at maximum zoom to the unit....

I check the options, I have most of them on high. Changed to low and medium.

Not a big difference. When I have minimum zoom, it works like a charm, even on very high.

So, I'm asking, are sprites missing?!

I don't think the sprites have gone...but there does seem to be an increase in detail for things like grass and terrain. This will hit especially hard in the graphics department. I'm running BI with medium/high settings on the battlemap on a GF6800GT 256Mb and huge units. If I crank everything up to maximum, it does show.

Don't think it's the units that are making the difference...I think it's down to the prettier battlefields!

In BI the HIGHEST unit setting removes Sprites. This didnt happen all the time in RTW, you had to go to the preference file and edit Ultra, But in BI is does, so use High settings if you still want Sprites. That and other things are why you notice a performance hit.
