Default the UN, US aid, and voting

How they vote in the United Nations:

Below are the actual voting records of various Arabic/Islamic States which
are recorded in both the US State Department and United Nations records:

Kuwait votes against the United States 67% of the time
Qatar votes against the United States 67% of the time
Morocco votes against the United States 70% of the time
United Arab Emirates votes against the U. S. 70% of the time.
Jordan votes against the United States 71% of the time.
Tunisia votes against the United States 71% of the time.
Saudi Arabia votes against the United States 73% of the time.
Yemen votes against the United States 74% of the time.
Algeria votes against the United States 74% of the time.
Oman votes against the United States 74% of the time.
Sudan votes against the United States 75% of the time.
Pakistan votes against the United States 75% of the time.
Libya votes against the United States 76% of the time.
Egypt votes against the United States 79% of the time.
Lebanon votes against the United States 80% of the time.
India votes against the United States 81% of the time.
Syria votes against the United States 84% of the time.
Mauritania votes against the United States 87% of the time.

U S Foreign Aid to those that hate us:

Egypt, for example, after voting 79% of the time against
the United States, still receives $2 billion annually in US Foreign Aid.

Jordan votes 71% against the United States
and receives $192,814,000 annually in US Foreign Aid.

Pakistan votes 75% against the United States
receives $6,721,000 annually in US Foreign Aid.

India votes 81% against the United States
    receives $143,699,000 annually.

it's rather interesting. whether the whole "vote" thing actually has anything to do with real politik is not answered in these figures.

Well United States foreign aid is not always dependent upon that nations actions within the United Nations voting.

Attempts to draw correlations to the two will be very difficult. Foreign aid to nations based upon spefic UN agenda items would be a better collation to se how Foreign Aid is used to influence the vote in the UN.

But when you just look at the overall picture - the correlation does not seem to exist.

Edit to add always to the first sentence
O well, seems like 'some' people decide to ruin a perfectly valid threat. Nice going guys... doc bean

Didn't know Lebanon and India were either arabic or islamic states...

And I'm a bit lost at the meaning of 'vote against the US'. Does that mean they specifically said "We voted against the US' or just that they had a different opinion on a given matter ?

I'm wary of the use of the phrase, "those that hate us," and I didn't write it, either.

My sense is that voting against US policies doesn't mean they hate us and that giving a country aid is different than purchasing loyalty. They are very different than us ideologically so it's no surprise that they vote differently in the U.N.

However - Just FYI, the money we give Egypt is part of the Camp David
deal where we pay them not to attack Israel again. Most Middle-East "aid" agreements have this provision, so the US is paying for Israel's protection.

Isn't Israel well able to protect itself ? I'm not much of a military expert (or geek), but many people are claiming that the Israelis have one of the best army in the world.
Furthermore, they already whooped all these arabian countries and I'm fairly sure they could do it once more (though european intellectuals would probably whine and bitch if something like that was happening).

I Don't think Lebanon is an Islamic state either. They have many freedoms westerners do. One of the few Middle Eastern countries that do.

Those statistics just make me love the Middle Eastern/ Islamic countries more though

On the other hand, assuming that the largest part of the population of these countries dislike or even hate the US wouldn't be entirely wrong IMO.
