    Default Making Factions Playable

Well, I finally got around to picking up RTW, and I've added the 1.3 patch, but I'm having some trouble making the normally unplayable factions available.

I've gone and moved all of the faction names in that data/world/maps/Imperial Camp/strat text file to the playable list from the unlockable and unplayable lists, but I'm experiencing CTDs whenever I try to start a campaign with SPQR, Slaves, Dacians, Thracians, Numidians, Armenians and Spanish. Any ideas on why this might be and what I could do to fix the problem?

    Thanks in advance,
    Digenes

you need to add faction descriptions, for Bi you would do it like this

    C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\bi\data\text

And you'd add a description to each faction you'd want to have playable.

SO it works the same way in RTW patch 1.3

go to data, text , campaign_descriptions, then add a description for each faction you would want to have playable

This site seems to be a little better than Babelfish.

Dutch_guy, you were right about Babelfish. Ik ben niet Nederlands. But some Canadians remember that the Dutch take very good care of our fallen soldiers from World War II who are in cemetaries over there, so I thought I would try to find out how to say thank you in your language.

Here's an All Factions Playable mod for 1.3, for those of us, like me, who are too lazy and indolent to do the work themselves.
