Default And so 'tis farewell for now....

Well the half term hols have finally arrived and I shall be off for the fair city of Vienna for a week and a half. This one of the best times to visit Vienna, as now is the time they serve goose and duck for St. Martin's day and the young, sweet wine, Sturm is served in most places.
    Bye!

    God speed my fellow Imperialist!
    When I was a child
    I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
    The child is grown,
    The dream is gone.
    I have become comfortably numb...

I hope you have fun! I've never been to Vienna, but it sounds like a great place, so I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself.

Have fun, my loyal conquering companion, and don't forget to make Austria on of Her Majesty's territories while you are there.

    Default Greetings from Vienna

Well I'm in Vienna, this time having travelled by air which is much more comfortable than by train. So far relatively little has happened, I have just lied in bed going through my heavy pile of books which have brought with, which is comfortable enough. It is true, the girls are far from hot, although there was one who came into a cafe the other day and who was wearing a blazer and nothing else underneath. Let us say that nipple slippage did occur. The wine, especially the sturm has been excellent, although a glass of sturm is easily drunk and makes your head swim after one glass.
Yesterday I went for dinner at the Piaristen Keller, whcih is beautifully decorated cellar which was supposed to have had a connection with the Imperial family (although I think they only claim that because the used the recipes of one of the court cooks). The cream of pheasant soup was excellent, yet the dessert was most mysterious: one second it was there, the next it wasn't! And they had the cheek to charge more for it than the soup! Today was most enjoyable, Sunday brunch at the Hilton, with unlimited prosecco. Tomorrow I will hopefully do something a bit more interesting, as I will try to go to the armoury collection at the Imperial Palace of the Hofburg. I shall try to keep you posted.
