Default Quite curious about few things on EB members

This is direct copy of part of my PM, feel free to answer if you wish:

And I'm quite curious, is the team very "international", or "dominated" by one/two countries members.

And another question is are you interested in the subject also in outside life (PhD etc.), or enthusiasts?

And final questions is that you based your research on primary sources only (I assume critics has been included - quite obvious one :))? I mean including some other proofs that can't be found in primary sources (ephigraphical ones, money etc.), only in modern books (of course I mean academical ones)

jerby, knowing the geography is essential to knowing history, IMHO.. so I know where lies..Lusitania Still, quite impressive list.

BTW, silly mistake. I meant literally sources, not the primary ones - still makes a diffrence (and thanks Khelvan for pointing me on that). What other then Greek and Roman sources do you use then (I assume you do from Khelvan post)? And what other primary ones?

the "(you know..spain)" was just a little (non-offensive) pun to Aymar and Sarcasm.

they're portuguese...and i accidentilly called them spanish, and asked them if they were unemployed or a fishermen...
i decided to keep up the tradition..

We do not only use primary sources. Otherwise, we would not be able to accuratley depict most of the non Greek or Roman peoples.

That isn't true. The Greeks and Romans are not the only people who provided primary sources.

Primary sources does not mean "Greek and Roman sources," Kenny. You should know that.

I've kept a map up of locations of EB members, but it's not entirely up to date now so I won't post it. I will say that we have numerous representatives of virtually all western European (including our Scandinavian friends even) countries. We also have many from central and Eastern European countries, including some from Greece, Poland, Italy, and Romania. We also have members in and from some Asian countries including Turkey, Armenia, and Singapore. There are a number of Aussies as well. There are many members from the U.S. and Canada, from the farthest edges and all across the middle, and at least one representative from South America.

Some former members who have had to "retire" from modding RTW or just EB for various reasons would stretch our list to include many other interesting places that we don't currently have members in, including places like Japan, Russia, Iraq, and elsewhere.

Our biggest concentrations of members would have to be in the Iberian Peninsula, across northern Europe, the British Isles, and Scandinavia, plus stretched out across the U.S. and Canada (with some pockets also in places like Sydney and in Romania).

Thank's a lot, much clearer picture now, Teleklos Archelaou.

And what with other questions (no offense, but it's generally proffesional-enthusiasm question)

It all depends upon what the definition of "currently active" is. If someone is slowly doing some things for us, but not posting much, should they be considered? Things like that pose problems in answering these questions. Plus I don't remember a case where we actually kicked anyone out, though there have been many members who have gone inactive and a few who have withdrawn.

A recent poll on our hidden message board got 38 responses, I think (too lazy to go look it up). About 32 reported putting in five hours or more in the prior week.

Didn't even think about that. Yeah, here are the results. I don't see any reason why this would not be ok to make public:

How much time, approximately, have you spent on EB in the last 7 days?

    More than 50 hours 3 7.89%
    About 35-50 hours 0 0%
    About 20-35 hours 1 2.63%
    About 10-20 hours 8 21.05%
    About 5-10 hours 8 21.05%
    Less than 5 hours 10 26.32%
    Less than 1 hour 3 7.89%
None, just cruised the forum 2 5.26%
    More than 30, mostly playtesting 0 0%
    More than 15, mostly playtesting 1 2.63%
    More than 5, mostly playtesting 1 2.63%
About an hour, playtesting 1 2.63%

I thought the results were fairly good and pretty interesting also, but I'm all for pushing folks to put more work/content in too, so....
