Default My question to you, great fans.

I ask this as a fellow fan and partially as an EB Member.

What is your perception of the Europa Barbarorum Project so far?

I will ask this question again after the OB release.

    (1) The professional appearance of a corporate-produced Game.

    (2) Not quite corporate, but the most professional volunteer project for TW in existence.

    (3) One of the top three mods in terms or professionalism.

    (4) Solid. Above average.

    (5) No better or worse then most mods out there.

    (6) Less than average, there are more impressive efforts out there.

    (7) Sub-standard. The bargain bin.

    (8) Honestly? EB is an inside joke.

    I can't say. I don't have much knowledge of EB's inner workings.

It certainly has the, as you call it, professional appearance of a corporate-produced Game. But you guys are taking your time to finish the product, both to our benefit, well, and our torture.

I am only speculating, but with no meddling financier hiding in the back with a terminal deadline, and with EB being a purely voluntary project, the crew is allowed to dedicate time and care to ‘nurse’ it, rather than it being, like an official release, considered another ‘job’ you have to finish in time.

Like I said, I am only speculating, but I think you guys in the EB crew genuinely love EB, and it shines through in your previews. Keep up the good work.

Since EB is far ahead of vanilla (and it's not even open beta yet), how could it possibly be LESS than standard "corporate-produced" games?!

when i got Rome total war it was is in my oppinion the best computer game ever, That was untill i saw EB, if this mod is anything like the previews suggest than it will be probably the best mod ever, from what i have heard of all the additions your makeing, i cannot think of any other startegy games or mods in the world that can match its historical realism or deapth of strategy

i felt the same.. it was a major discovery. i played with an open mouth for teh first 5 weeks...
it was such a step up from Age Of Mythology...or any other RTS..

and then RTR came with soem minor fixes..and then i saw EB...

and i thinkEB will give me a years worth of playing with an open mouth...

years? I sure hope not.... I sincerely hope the RTW engine will get better soon:

    - better AI
    - More factions / units with distinct and realistic animations
    - more complex strategy/diplomacy/gvt infrastructure
    - AND ....BIGGER BATTLE !! like it was in history ! at least 20k , if not 40k

I voted 3. No doubt that EB is built on the foundations of CA's great Rome: Total War, but this is definitely the best mod for RTW. I have downloaded a couple of other mods, and got bored with them much quicker than I did with Vanilla (a great experience, you must admit at the beginning). But I have a lot of fun just hanging out at the forums, just imagine what the game will be like...

Until I actually sit and play the mod, how can I, or anyone else for that matter, offer an informed opinion as to whether the mod is any good or not?

Reread the question. You're answering a question you want to answer, not the one he asked.

    My choice was #3.

I'm looking forward to trying it out. Even though I feel it's more an alternative history mod.

Personally I think EB is a good mod that is very professional and shows you can skin and create better than the perfesionals while still keeping it nonperfesional

    Dare I think the impossible?

    don't get your hopes up....

if they knew for sure it will be released then the situation is:
a: it's already doen now..there just building tension
b: they're rushing like hell and you'll get a buggy release

the beta will be out as soon as the ammount of work that will be implemented is determined. and then filled up. then tested for immediate crashes and more...

after that you'll get your semi-complete not so buggy (still buged, but not enormous,it's a beta silly!) open beta of EB. i think EBOB is a nice name...

still, khelvan is already working his but of for the OB..so give the guy a rest..
