    Question Brief Assassin Question

If I'm remembering this right, in STW and MTW when a general was assassinated, the troops under his command suffered a severe morale penalty for 1 or 2 turns. Assuming I didn't imagine this, does anyone know whether this penalty still exists in Rome?

I have never seen the morale penalty in action, but game definitly mentioned it, so I assume it was there. My assassins unfortunatly failed every time I tried to make a decapitation strike just before invading.

However, I have not seen it in R:TW. It may still be present, but it is mentioned nowhere. This is basically a long-winded way of saying "I don't know".

    Thanks for the reply, Ludens

I haven't actually noticed the morale penalty in practice either, I just saw it mentioned in the tooltips. Perhaps it wasn't implemented, or the penalty isn't high enough to be really noticable.

It is indeed possible that it was never implemented, but morale penalties are often tricky to spot. There are people swearing that high-dread generals cause an enemy to rout much faster, but the developers have already stated that dread has no effect whatsoever on the battlefield.

If it is just a small thing like -2 morale you may not notice it, but it will affect the battle. -2 will not turn an clear victory into a heroic one, but it may turn a closely fought battle in your favour.

It Goes By The Level Of The General You Assasinated A Low General Will Give Minor Losses Basically Unoticeable Like In Stw And Mtw The Higher the General The harder The Army Is Affected So Keep Assassinating Weak 1's To Build up Assassin For The Strong Ones Youll Notice

True, but since the tooltip specifically speaks of a morale-penalty (as opposed to a honour/valour penalty) regardless of the number of stars of the general, I think there must be another effect as well.
