How do i change the color of a bif from green and yellow to the in game colors using BifReader 2.1??

Your best bet is to open the BIF using 2.1, use the "Extract all frames option", edit/recolour each extracted .BMP frame in another suitable graphics editor (MS Paint will do), then re-build the 12 BMP back into a 12 frame BIF using the "Import all frames option" of Bifreader 2.1

Bifreader 2.1 is a great utility - but don't think of it as a fully-blown graphics editor. It's not.
