I love both: VI and RTW/BI![]()
I played RTW first and couldn`t fully enjoy MTW/VI because of the poor battle graphics. But after playing MTW I couldn`t really enjoy RTW fully either beacuse of the much more challenging and in some parts better(the load/save bug speaks for itself) strategic part of MTW.![]()
Runes for good luck:

i dunno... i may just be a sucker for graphics but after i got rome total war i just couldnt get over the graphics/features and other stuff... and i can't go back to Medieval Total War, i even have to push myself to help my dad who plays plays medieval total war since his computer sucks so bad he can only play m:tw
Well, I have been wondering if I should go back
and get a copy of MTW again, since I miss the
music, but yeah, if graphics are a premium, I'll
keep my money, but MTW's map interface is so
much more robust than RTW's.

I have boths installed MTW:VI and RTR:BI plus various mods for RTW esp. RTR. Currently playing Roman in RTR 6.2 but once in a while I go back to MTW to finish my Turkish campaign.
Cheers...
Say: O unbelievers, I serve not what you serve, nor do you serve what I serve, nor shall I serve what you are serving, nor shall you be serving what I serve.
To you your religion, and to me my religion.
I got MTW/VI after Rome as well and for the time being, I enjoy it more than RTW, despite the graphics - heck, I even enjoy playing games like Dune II or Master of Magic, and they´re over ten years old, so go figure.
I just wished MTW had the more diverse diplomacy RTW - or the aforementioned Master of Magic, for that matter - had; that part is a bit too simplicistic, in my opinion. One can argue about the boardgame strategic map, personally I consider it not the worst solution, the naval movement makes a lot more sense than the one in Rome (eight years to cross the mediterrean).
And the sieges - well now, that´s some issue that´s suboptimal in both games: The MTW sieges are nice and simple, no pathfinding issues or such, but they lack all the nice equipment you can get in RTW. Besieging a huge city in RTW, however, is a major pain, because the cities all have a labyrinth layout and the nice siege equipment only helps getting over or through the walls - and the real trouble starts with that accomplished. Dito, you cannot end a siege by starving the enemy out, in their last turn they always sally forth, so you´re left with no choice but to do those siege battles.
