    Default A few modding questions

Hi all. I'm planning on making a 14 AD campaign for the original RTW, and I need to know a few things...

First of all, I'm planning on having the House of Julii own Iberia, Gaul, Italia, Greece, North Africa, and Asia Minor/Middle East.

So how do I change the province ownerships and get rid of the following factions - Carthage, Numidia, Spain, Gaul, Greece, Macedonia, Pontus, Seleucids, Egyptians, and Romans Scipii and Brutii?

Second, how do I make my new campaign show up with proper faction descriptions...say I want to change the name for House of Julii to Roman Empire...how would I go about doing that?

and how do I make Legionary First Cohorts available to Julii? any buildings I have to add?

and next is characters...how do I make the leader named "Tiberius Julius", and his heir "Claudius Julius", and so on?

Sorry for all the questions, but I appreciate any help that can be given!

    Thanks all!

How do I add garrisons to towns I've taken away from other factions?

The descr_strat.txt contains all the info you need.
Really, all the questions you asked have their answers there. You basically need to erase and edit.

To make the Julii have all the provinces they want, just copy and paste from their original owners. Don't forrget to add the armies, not to have revolting cities from the start.

As for the Legionaries, check the export_descr_unit.txt

Find the Legionaries, and make them available to Julii by adding romans_julii between the brackets....

Be sure to backup everything before you start, and save after you start.

For complete guides, make sure to visit the excellent Scriptorium.

    Hope this helps.

    Been to:

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.

A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?

To continue with the OPs question about "getting rid of" certain factions... is this a simple matter of giving ownership of all that faction's provinces to another faction?

Say, for example, I really wanted to get rid of the &#$*@$ Egyptians altogether. If all the Egyptian cities were given to the rebel faction, what would happen to the family members in those cities? Would they become rebel family members? What about the underage children that were part of the Egyptian royal family? Would they "mature" into Rebel family members? And at the beginning of the game, would the message "Faction Destroyed -- Egypt" pop up?

Just curious. Cuz if all I have to do is change city ownership to rebels in order to get rid of Egypt, those $#@%@#$% are gone, man. So gone.
