    You can be as nasty as you like, confess your sins to god and be absolved of all of it. Felling refreshed you can go back to conquering with a clear consience.

    No you can't. It is not enough to simply confess, you have to honestly mean the confession and be sorry you did whatever out of a guilty concience.

    Only you and God know if your apology is sincere and for the right reasons.

    kekvitirae in some cities, it is almost impossible to turn them christian without facing an instant rebellion, so why destroy the Sacred Circle of Wotan and have a rebellion in Vicus Frankii?

    You get priest units if you go christian, but apart from that the only reason I see for switching is the challenge.

    Send a couple of Christian diplomats/spies and family members to the region for a few turns before you destroy the Pagan shrine. This will make sure they wont rebel.

    Quick bit of advice: when you start your WRE or ERE campaign on VH campaign, don't try to change religions in cities against the majority population! Religion is the biggest factor behind unrest. Just stick with the majority religion in the settlement and foster it.
