Prostitutes pestered American GIs so much during World War II that ministers feared for the transatlantic alliance, newly released papers suggest.

Troops stationed in London were writing to family back home saying they were often accosted by "good-time girls".

The Scotland Yard file, released to the National Archives, shows concerns ran so deep that crisis meetings were held.....

One Home Office official said: "His points are there are far too many prostitutes, that their behaviour is far too blatant, and that the impression created on the American troops and their mommas at home is bad."

Yeah complaining after they caught a dose , 40% of GIs who caught a dose in Britain caught it in London . 4 other cities together made up another 27% .
Apart from the £2 fine all the authorities could do was make the women recieve treatment for VD , but then only if someone named them as being the person who infected them (emergency powers act 33B) .
VD was a very big broblem in Bomber Command , especially among the Canadian squadrons , but then as the chances are they were likely to be dead very shortly they didn't really care .

Haha that reminds me of a letter during the American civil War from a christian mother to her enlisted son saying that she feared for his soul.....because of all the gambling that went on in those camps. Nevermind getting shot in the face, JUST DON'T PLAY CARDS!!!!!

you have to get it in perspective , millions of people dying ....some people paying for sex .
Yep prostitution must be addresssed

Besides which what would the Nazis have to say about the morals of the allies , oh look at the evil allies they pay for sex , god is on our side , more gas please
