I wanted to post this question in the right thread but as a new member couldn`t.Then instead of waiting patiently I read about how long it could take to qualify for the other forums, and the words "if you feel you`ve been forgotten"# so here goes:
Regarding governors-what is the importance if any of keeping them in their relevant province?
On reflection this could be a ridiculous question with an obvious answer and proof enough why newbies aren`t allowed to post anywhere they like.

Thanks
It depends what game you play.
In MTW, it increases the loyalty of that province in the short term. In the long term AFAIK, it increases the likelihood of developing bad V&Vs, so try to keep 'em moving, fighting in battles, that kind of thing.
In the first place: welcome to the Org, VeroImperatoreDiRoma.Originally Posted by VeroImperatoreDiRoma
If your question is about M:TW: there is no known effect for absentee governors whatsoever. Dread, acumen and piety have the same effect when the gov is in his domain or on the other side of the map (this does not apply for the King's influence, however). Sitting still in a province does seem to improve the chance of gaining bad vices however, so it is useful to sent governors to the frontline. Keep in mind however that the governor will get no building-related virtues if he is in a stack led by another general. The virtue will go to that general in stead.

OK Cheers all!
Of course I should have said MTW !! I did try to be clear but alas, fact is I moderate on a worldwide football forum and it needs patience to the extreme. You make a poll of best player and someone posts their favourite five players.![]()
One other question, where does the pause button stand in multiplayer games?
Is it used? Should I wean myself off pausing? I want to play online after one or two more campaigns so is it bad practice?
If RTWMP (i've dabbled a bit, but can't do it much due to dial-up) is anything to go by it requires all players to hit the pause button and splashes an announcement saying ________ wants to pause the game. I only played MTWMP a coupld of times, but I think it uses the same system now that I think about it.
I'd suggest weening yourself off of the pause button.
