The game ends in 1453. Personally I found that most of my MTW campaigns in conquest mode tended to drag on tediously after a certain point, it became more of a slog than fun. I usually finished up around 1300-1350, IIRC.

I prefer to play in GA mode, although in VI the campaign wasn't that bad.
