And economically where do you stand? Those two concepts together will define whether or not you really are a Southern Democrat or if you just like the term.

Well economically, it is as easy as this:

    Is your personal property yours?

When does it stop becoming yours?

If you build something, buy something, own something do you deservce to keep it?

And if someone else wants what you have but does not have the intelligence, imagination, ability, or motivation to acquire it should the government take part of your property away and give it to the less talented?

If you own a home, is it yours? Or is it yours until someone else wants it?

    left leaning market liberal

Free trade for all non essential items. I believe pharmaceutical companies should be government sanctioned, as well as large corporations broken down from time to time to avoid monopolizing the market... yes that means you Oil Industry

Also a stronger social system. Corporations should be required to offer basic benefits packages to all employees, as well as a higher tax rate. Reformation of social security, and veterans of the military should recieve better benefits.

    Divinus Arma:

    Do you approve debt slaves?
    Do you approve child working?
Do you approve national companies moving offshore to low-wage countries?

If responding no to any of those questions, you're not a true economical right-winger (read Capitalizt and the z is intentional).

    Economically left and socially liberal.

Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?

    I dunno, which way's imperialsim?
    When I was a child
    I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
    The child is grown,
    The dream is gone.
    I have become comfortably numb...

well imperialism isnt really right or left, it can be either way. Seeing as both rightwing nations and leftwing nations can run an imperialistic foreign policy.

This poll really needs a "Gah!" option. It would have been my choice.
    Be intent on loyalty
While others aspire to perform meritorious services
    Concentrate on purity of intent
While those around you are beset by egoism

Gah for me. Also, Divinus, your criteria for being economically left is only qualified for an extremist. I am very far left, but my answers to those questions would make me sound rightwing.

Leftwing economics have little in general to do with the criteria you have put up; they have much more to do with larger-scale economics, such as suppressing larger corporate entities, and a relative economic equality amongst the people at large. Your criteria really only apply to totalitarianist economies, where even if they are strongly rightwing, the average person is much more at risk to lose his or her personal possesions.

    Just a little clarification.

Also, if I sound suprisingly calm, it is because I just had four shots of Bushmill's, and I am in a pretty good mood. I love Irish whiskey.
