Thread: Your Favourite Beard

    Default Your Favourite Beard

This would have been a poll, but there are far too many options available, and even though they're not beards, moustaches are acceptable choices for the purposes of the thread.

I'll start with mine. Even though I'm incapable of growing one, I've always had a soft spot for the Fu Manchu.

There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

A "pirate" one. I'm sporting one now. Not really a beard though. More thin 'stache and lower lip thingie. Chin (only, no cheekage) thingie optional.

I'm going to refrain from the bash and just say that, no, it's not spelled incorrectly.

NeonGod is using the English spelling. You are using the American-English spelling. They are both correct.

Of course the English spelling is far superior, as one would expect from the race that invented the language.
There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

A full beard, 1/4 inch when freshly cut. Goes well with my hair, which is also 1/4 inch when freshly cut.

    Also mutton chops.

I may be losing it on top, but I can grow a beard like a mad monk.

Mutton chops (realones, like Neil Young's), or a full, long one (Jerry Garcia).

The correct answer is the patriarchal 'Garibaldi' beard.

    My dear Beirut,

I fail to see any profound reason for such commotion. Yes, he is rather a stout chap, but only the most perverse of Moderators would surmise that a 'patriarchal Garibaldi' might be anything else than the hairy appendices to the fellow's chin. I hope we are seeing eye to eye on this. No harm done as long as the full biblical symbolism remains submerged, I daresay.

    My dearest AdrianII,

What causes me alarm in that pic is that, once the spare tire is removed from that chap, he bears a striking resemblance to me.
