settelment and charecter name changing

Hello , I was browsing the BI preference data and found this setting in it
LABEL_CHARACTERS:FALSE
LABEL_SETTLEMENTS:TRUE
Now I have changed charecters to TRUE and I am about to test to see if it allows you to change charecters names in game . An odd option but cool if it works. Was wondering if anyone else saw this and has tried it out?

I may be mistaken but I think this refers to whether characters and settlements are labeled on the campaign map. On default, the labels of settlements appear always, that of characters only if you point with the mouse on them.
