Thread: A few questions about the Open Beta

Default A few questions about the Open Beta

OK, as the open beta release seems to be getting pretty close I'd like to ask a couple of questions about what's going to be in and what isn't.

First of all, I assume you have a full list of the units that you're going to have in the full version (1.0). What proportion of these are going to be in the OB? The vast majority or only maybe 50-60%?

Apart from units, what kinda stuff have you had to leave out of the Open Beta? Is it the serious hardcore scripting kind of stuff or more just the aesthetic things that add atmosphere to the game?

How big a reflection do you anticipate the Ob to be on the full release? Will the OB basically be the full release but minus a little polish and fine tuning? Or will it be just the very bare bones of EB that will be massively improved in future releases?

I understand that these arent the easiest questions, I'm just curious to get a feel of how much of EB we're gonna get in the first installment

Playing the open beta will be a brand new experience, count me for that. Or rather a different level of experience. But still, the final product or rather 1.0 will be much more....
I just love to be a tester...

About 40% of what we'd like to do with traits will be in the Open Beta. Some factions and cultures have more traits and ancillaries done than others. The Romans, Greeks, Celts, and Sweboz are probably the furthest along, although every faction has a special trait or ancillary or two.

Ah! the Generals! they are numerous, but not good for much (especially if they're Languorous)!
