    All hail Teleklos Archelaou, the obscure Spartan king!

    I would love to if I could learn. I probably wouldn't be very good though. I am terrible at artsy stuff, even on computers.

    Sarcastic! Considering Spartan character and History, being called a 'Spartan king' is not too different of being called "colonel of the Gestapo"...

    You dont like Spartiates, do you? They were not that bad as they're usually portrayed. Connections with Germany are as old as late XIXth century - Germans wanted to be seen as greatest military power (as Sparta) England on the other hand liked to be seen as Athens (great seapower and culture centre theatened by land superpower) as early as Napoleonic Wars. This means that the France and then Germany were seen as Sparta in England and while English speaking scientists had such great influence all arguments in politics were transfered to history. How we see Sparte today is how England saw its enemies up to 2nd WW.
    Reality was far less simple - people of Messenia were probably more "free" than hundreds of thousands slaves in Attica or other poleis, many war crimes during late V and early VIth century wars were commited by Athenians (and voted yes by citizen gathering), greatest military seaborn invasion was carried out by peace loving Athenians, Athenian Acropolis is a result of huge fraud of allied cities funds gathered for defence purposes. Don't forget that spartan king was more like field marshal than absolute monarch.
    All those small city states were corrupted and the war was normal state among them. Thanks to all goods of Grece Philippos ho Makedoov basileos came in and repaired everything.

    Hey, how can you read my thoughts?

    You need to install the Greek keyboard. I posted a how-to before somewhere nearby but can't find now, so here you are again:

    • You need Win2K or higher;
    • Open Control Panel > Regional and Language Options. Make sure both checkboxes are ticked on the Languages tab:
    • Click Add... and select Greek from the list. You can install more than one keyboard layout per language (such as monotnic and polytonic for Greek).
    • Optionally, click Language Bar... and make sure it's turned on:
    • You can switch between installed keyboards using Alt + Left Shift (forward) and Alt + Right Shift (backward) hotkeys.

    Hth!
