It was the response of my best friends character in an ADnD 2nd edition game I mastered, after his 4th level cavalier charged a Firbolg (half giant) and got whacked of his horse, and consequently fled the scene. (That was about 6 years ago.)
Since then I learned that the satement is also on a "famous last words" list on some rpg forum.
When I said Death before Dishonour, I meant alphabetically.

check the Imperialist club thread for details, but its basically places i have "conquered"

    I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now

I made up mine and use it as my sig because it rhymes quite nicely although it is not accurate anymore. I only play about once a week now.

I saw the first bit on another forum and thought it was funny, so I put it in my sig.

The second bit advertises my Roma Victor guild.

Power to Random Vin Diesel Facts!

    I forget mine..

I think one's a Price of Peace mod (for Enemy Territory) button - click it! It's good mod.

Then there's the quote from Histeria, the show inspiring my nick.

    And usually something else...

    [EDIT]Nothing right now though.[/EDIT]

The random Vin Diesel jokes get pwnd hard by random Chuck Norris jokes... 'cause, well -- Chuck Norris > Vin Diesel hard, frankly.

And Chris... all I can say is "sig material"!

My sig... because Stoicism is my kind of philosophy. And Marcus Aurelius was the Principate's best, most sincere princeps. 'Nuff respect due \o

It was a debate here about how much control genes have over ourselves.
Our genes maybe in the basement but it does not stop us chosing our point of view from the top.

There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

Miyamoto Musashi, the master swordsman. Perhaps the master swordsman of the history, fighting - bit oddly - always with two swords. He wrote a master piece on swordsmanship, The Book of Five Rings, which is, much like Sun Tzu’s work, easy to interpret even in our time and age and almost any line of work; it was not a technical book on how to wield sword, but a philosophical ponderings on the spiritual stance of the warrior.

Today you triumph over yourself of the yesterday; you have improved your skills, you have become better. Thus winning over your old, former self, becoming better, stronger, faster, you will ensure your victory over life in general and any foe in particular.

Words of wisdom to live by.

Today is your victory over yourself of yesterday; tomorrow is your victory over lesser men.

Miyamoto Musashi, The Book of Five Rings, The Water Book
