Snow is beautiful in small doses, but a major pain in the arse if you are responsible for keeping your driveways and homes clear of it, or if you are relegated to public transportation, cycling, and lots of walking (i.e. you choose not to drive). I grew up in Sacramento, where I can only remember it snowing enough to make a (feeble) snowman once in my entire life. I spent last winter in Reno, and experienced one of that town's nastier snowbound winters. Man, I did NOT enjoy it; frankly, it SUCKED. Now in New Jersey, I'm bracing myself, as I've been told it snows here a lot in winter also. At least here there will be one other able-bodied man who can help keep the driveway and homestead clear of it. The wife has plenty to do inside, and the kids are all under age six and won't be of any use.
I will be happier when I can relocate to a place where snow isn't so prevalent in winter time. I'll be content to visit pretty winter wonderlands when I choose to, and then go home to a warmer, dryer environment.
